It's down to just a day away and just like that, Electric Daisy Carnival New York is here. As it's the first to kick off the summer festival season in NYC, EDC NY will top last year's event and the festival's producer, Insomniac made sure of that. They have teamed up with nightlife gurus EMM Group, the team behind FINALE in NYC, where the two powerhouses will create the ultimate VIP experience for fans on May 17th and 18th at Citi Field.
Ladies, start freshening up your playlists and turntable skills because a big opportunity is about to hit the US. She Can DJ is a nationwide talent competition to find the country’s top female DJ/Producer. It's set to kick off in July bringing together the partnership of CBS Radio and Astralwerks, a label that is home to an impressive list of dance music's top talent such as Fatboy Slim, David Guetta, Hot Chip, Swedish House Mafia, and The Chemical Brothers.
In the wake of Depeche Mode’s most recent album, Delta Machine, one track in particular stands out. To be specific, "Soothe My Soul." Swedish House Mafia's Steve Angello and Jacques Lu Cont have been called in to remix the album track which exclusively hits Beatport today, May 6th on Size Records.
There's no question that Angello and Lu Cont were the right guys to bring in their sizeable skills to the table for this remix. While the twosome remained true to the original version, the pair highlighted the track’s effortless dance floor possibilities.

In a little over 12 months, Danny Avila has established himself as one of the biggest contenders in dance music’s prolific pool of next generation talent. The 18-year-old has releases on Big Beat and Interscope and can now add Ministry Of Sound to that list. Just released on April 7th, Ministry Of Sound Presents: Danny Avila Live, a 24-track compilation that features the biggest hits currently blaring through Avila’s sets.
“For me, (this mix) is really, really special,” said Avila, currently on tour in the States. “Ministry of Sound is one of the biggest brands in dance music history and I’ve always loved it.
