Located underneath the Boston Center for the Arts in the South End, the Beehive is a neighborhood bistro where people enjoy fantastic food, great live music, and a bohemian chic atmosphere. Since its opening in 2007, this bar and live music venue has been creating a buzz in the Boston nightlife scene through its presentation of live jazz, soul, cabaret and R&B acts in a swanky setting. The Beehive caught the attention of the media and urban professionals for being a night spot that is both elegant and free-spirited. The Beehive captures a side of Boston not normally seen—artistic, eclectic, and soulful.
Eats & Drinks
The Beehive’s executive chef Rebecca Newell has created a menu of rustic comfort food that combines elements of various ethnic culinary styles. With her creative mix of American, European, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern influences, patrons can enjoy comfort food with a funky twist. Featuring some of Boston’s best bartenders, The Beehive has a selection of quirky and fun drinks. The Beehive Julep, the Blonde Sidecar, and the Cougar are among the Beehive’s most popular cocktails.
Ambience
Simply put, the ambiance at the Beehive is hip and cool, making it hard to believe the location once served as a boiler room, woodshop, and loading dock. With three dining rooms and two bars, both created by local designer Jeff Smith, the Beehive has a capacity of 300 and that doesn’t even include the patio. Paintings by local artists hang on exposed brick walls while heavy red curtains drape throughout the space, reminding patrons of old fashioned French theaters. The use of chandeliers juxtaposed to exposed pipes and recycled wood help maintain a healthy balance between gritty and grace, which makes the Beehive appropriate for a wide variety of people.

Great, simple, satisfying comfort food with great live Jazz music makes The Beehive a place you just have to check out. Bonus, having a great time at very affordable prices.

If you like live music, this is THE place to be! It's a cool venue with some of the best cocktails in Boston! We tried several :-)

If you like your brunch with a jazzy twist, hoof it to this South End hot spot for eats and music. Snack on decadent poutine — cheese fries smothered in gravy and topped with eggs ($14).
