28 Degrees is the definition of cool; this venue’s charming atmosphere, artistic cuisine, and outstanding cocktails are the reason why this ultra trendy lounge attracts so many beautiful people. This “see-and-be-seen-with” type of place is two parts club and one part bistro. The next word that comes in mind when you mention 28 Degrees is class. This place has gorgeous customers and gorgeous employees all dressed to impress. This is a great restaurant to have a good time eating from 28 Degrees’ eclectic food and drink menu, while listening to the hip soundtrack that night’s DJ has compiled.
Eats & Drinks
Following their own philosophy of serving the perfect cocktail, 28 Degrees is named after the ideal chilling temperature for martinis. 28 Degrees has an array of alcoholic beverages ranging from the always tasty and customer favorite Blueberry Basil Martini to a wine list that was composed by Shelley Lindgren of the notable restaurant A16 in San Francisco. 28 Degrees has recently hired the highly sought after Chef Jared Chianciola and Consulting Chef Jeremy Sewall, of Lineage Restaurant in Brookline. Their menu consists of dishes such as Island Creek Oysters, Duck Confit Spring Rolls, Scallion, Carrot, Ginger, Sesame Seed, with Hoisin Sauce, and Hand Rolled Ricotta Gnocchi. Whether it’s to indulge in tuna tartare or to savor a key lime martini, you will be satisfied no matter what.
28 Degrees offers plenty of space that features basic but sleek black and white walls with dim lighting, which provides a soft and comfortable mood. Because it was designed by Mark Bombara of Boston and Martin Smargiassi of Innovative Collaborations, 28 Degrees fits the bill of a swank and trendy interior design. Innovative Collaborations designed 28 Degrees in a contemporary yet classic manner by including rich woods, sexy lighting, and creative textures.
AskMen 5/14/10Franceso Spagno is one of the more entertaining dance-party DJs in Boston. Expect his set to include soul, Latin, Italian, & Brazilian, plus the odd Serbian gypsy track. Free, May 14 from 9pm to 1am.
Marc C.6/1/10Good for Drinks...
John M.9/10/09Get $1 oysters every night from 5p-7p. They're Island Creek from Duxbury, and they're good.
Gilt City 1/18/12A favorite for its fantastic drinks, the chic South End specializes in one-of-a-kind martinis. Try the “blueberry basil” or the “blue cheese,” which is topped off with blue cheese-stuffed olives.
