Originally opened in 1996, Grafton Street Pub & Grill has been a beloved institution of Harvard Square for more than a decade. This neighborhood hotspot is named after the spirited cobblestone-lined shopping district in Dublin’s famed Temple Bar area. Grafton Street deftly combines the warmth and coziness of a traditional neighborhood pub with the aesthetic of a contemporary restaurant.
Formerly located at 1280 Massachusetts Avenue, Grafton Street relocated in June of 2002. The relocation afforded owners Patrick Lee, Peter Lee, Gerry Sheerin and Sean Kennedy a much larger floor plan with enhanced views of the Square, and only a block away from the original site. The 5,000 square foot space revels in tones of cream, beige and brown, complemented by black trim, yielding what is a well — designed but inherently relaxed space.
During the summer months, guests can enjoy al fresco dining on Grafton Street’s spacious sidewalk patio. The restaurant offers full bar service and boasts a seasonally-changing wine list, as well as a robust selection of craft beers from several local breweries
Well-placed drapes and unique table arrangements enable diners to have a relatively private experience in the midst of the lively restaurant. Perhap the most notable source of Grafton Street's pulse are the French doors> spanning the front of the restaurant, allowing the vibrancy of Harvard Square to emanate throughout the restaurant.
Eats & Drinks
Grafton Street's Pub menu of stylish comfort is perfect for dinners in need of a simple snack or a more fulfilling meal. Grafton Street Pubs Executive Chef Scott Robertson serves up contemporary American cuisine for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Enjoy the local flavors with starters that include but are definitely not limited to panko-crusted Maine crab cakes and steamed mussels in a savory white bean and fennel stew. Grafton Street Pub main menu has some favorites you won’t be able to resist, including Dublin-style fish and chips, rosemary lamb tips and a grilled Angus burger. Take a little bit of a change on their entrees with a little kick to them, like pepper-rubbed tuna steak with wasabi mashed potatoes or pan-seared duck breast that's served over sweet potato risotto. After all that delectable food, you might need a cold one. The bustling bar boasts an extensive selection of beer, wine, liquor, and features several signature cocktails created exclusively by award-winning Grafton Street mixologists.
