Celebration of Composer-Arranger Lena McLin

Lena McLin is finally getting her much deserved day in the spotlight. LcLin has trained some of the best singers to come out of Chicago: R.Kelly and Tammy McCann to name a few.


Music is in McLin's blood. She is the niece of Thomas A. Dorsey, a founding father of gospel music in the United States. Her music is a blend of European tradition but maintain black culture traditions.


March 27, 2011 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church will have a tribute to Lena McLin's music. McLin said, "This music has been heard all over the United States but, strangely, not very much in Chicago."


This Sunday, lead by Avon Walker, the work of a legend will be showcased. It is definitely not something to be missed.
