Venue Description:
The owners of this bar were clever. At the corner of Southport and School, they formed a bar and named it after one of the streets, in a way. But the place does live up to its name in the collegiate sense. ItÂ's a great place to watch University of Illinois teams play on 8 TVs and 6 big-screens. But even without all the U of I dĂ©cor, it really takes its name seriously with the bookshelves and plaid wallpaper—although, the mirrored bar might remind some dirty minds of a naughty librarian scene. The barÂ's menu teaches its pupils to think outside the box with Baja fish tacos, crab cake rangoon and tilapia sandwiches. But the barÂ's beverage menu is the more popular fare with 16 beers on tap and 12 bottled beers. YouÂ'll be quizzed on those beers so you better get studying.
