Le Passage
VENUE DETAILS
With three checkpoints, along with the scanning of id for “insurance purposes,” the security at Le Passage makes security at OÂ'Hare airport look pathetically lax. But once patrons arrive, they never want to leave. And why would they? Situated behind a cobblestone passageway, this former speakeasy attracts an international cliental of glamazons and celebrities. Beautifully designed by famed Parisian, Jacques Garcia, the décor of the space blends the environs of ancient Rome with those of contemporary Chicago. Prominent DJs spin dance music, while the crème-de-la-crème dines off of the prestigious menu of Chilled Oysters and Chocolate Fondue—complimented by the never-ending flow of champagne and martinis. Aside from providing the VIP treatment of bottle service and exclusive tables, Le Passage also hosts several fundraisers, private parties, and special events, including “How to Select the Perfect Bubbly.” Despite the pretentious setting, the sophisticated staff behaves entirely undiva-like. Still, patrons need movie-star status, or better yet movie-star looks, to achieve admittance.
