She recently held a modeling competition in NYC to find “the face of Gambita.” Originally, she thought she would be able to select a model from one of the many NYC modeling agencies, but after calling numerous agencies and being told that “models under 5’4’’ do not exist,” she decided she would host her own runway show in order to find a model to represent the company. The only requirement for the competition was that every woman be 5’4” or under.

Besides the epic performances and awards, one of our favorite parts of awards shows is the fashion! Some celebrities really called on their inner fashion gods and goddesses last night. And some just well... didn't. Take a look at some our favorite celebrities who got it right and rocked the red carpet at the 2013 American Music Awards last night.
She didn't rock a dress adorned with Biggie and Tupac's face this time around (although she did wear a 2 piece get up adorned with cats during her performance). Miley decided to keep it classy at this award's show and she strolled down the red carpet in a simple Versace pantsuit.
Great clothes, great people, and a great vibe is the best description that can be given for the launch event for Authentic Apparel Group's U.S. Army Menswear line this past Wednesday night (November 20). Held at Lower Manhattan's Blind Barber, tastemakers and fashionista's filled up the space to catch an in-person glimpse of Authentic Apparel's new U.S. Army Menswear collection.
Featuring a live DJ, the vibe in the building was great, as people mingled and got insights on the stylish new collection. The line, which will be distributed exclusively through Zappos, is officially licensed by the U.S. Army, and is inspired by classic military apparel while giving it a contemporary spin. One may think of Army apparel and shy away due to the idea of all-camouflage pieces, but the coolest thing about the line is that while the designs are inspired by Army attire, the colorways are varied and modern, and you would hardly guess they were based on military wear.
Ashley Olsen has joined the board of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The CFDA is an invitation-only VIP membership that consists of 400 American designers. The CFDA is a not-for-profit organization found in 1962 by publicist Eleanor Lambert. However, for the last 4 years, Diane von Fürstenberg has been the group’s President. Their mission branches out in many positive directions. First and foremost, they want the point of fashion design to be seen as American art and culture, but they also focus on maintaining a code of ethics in professional, public and trade relations. The fashion industry in America is meant to grow and expand – and with creating partnerships and collaborations this becomes possible.
