English Goes English for P.U.B.
Celebrity chef Todd English brings comfort food from across the pond

So far Eva Longoria Parker's Beso has been dominating the restaurant scene at Crystals in CityCenter, but tons of new eateries have just opened up within the luxury location, the most temping of which comes from Beso collaborator, Todd English.

Just across from Parker's Beso and Eve, English opened up his new casual restaurant P.U.B. (Public Urban Bar). And while the opening itself might have been a little...shall we say, odd (juggling leprechaun dwarves?), the restaurant itself is a sophisticated and delectable new venture from English, who also brought us Olives at the Bellagio.

The three-time James Beard Award-winning English said of P.U.B. and its Crystals location: "CityCenter is a state-of-the-art, innovative destination and it was an obvious location choice for Todd English P.U.B. I look forward to helping locals and tourists alike to enjoy a unique pub experience, one pint at a time."

The East Coast-style restaurant features an extensive selection of beer, including many on tap and several rarities like Rogue Chocolate Stout and Strongbow Cider.

Other than the beer, The Carvery is probably the most appealing aspect of the P.U.B. dining selection. Featuring a diverse selection of rotisserie-cooked meats ranging from prime beef to Greek leg of lamb, the diner is able to create their own custom sandwich, selecting the bread (sourdough, thick-cut rye, grilled pita, challah) and choosing from plethora of sauces (including pineapple mint jelly, horseradish sour cream, and black truffle mayo).

Though, the Raw Bar is not to be forgotten in the wake of the exceptional beer and Carvery. Serving oysters from both coasts as well as shrimp, lobster, and stone crab claws, any seafood lover will be ecstatic to sample the Bar's fare.

Or, if you are just in the mood for classic comfort food, P.U.B. has you covered there too. English has created a vast menu from which patrons may select the perfect solution for their culinary craving. Whether that be traditional English pub fare like Bangers & Mash or cured salmon with potato pancakes, P.U.B. has it all and does so in one of the most exceptionally simple and classic spaces on the Las Vegas strip.

The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows create an architecturally enticing environment full of natural light and good cheer. The elongated center bar runs most of the length of the restaurant and is surrounded by elegant wooden booths and long party tables.

"I wanted a menu that would match our exciting atmosphere," said English. "By featuring a variety of upscale appetizers at an affordable price, alongside our signature Carvery and Raw Bar, there is something for everyone's taste at Todd English P.U.B."

And of course, English has added some whimsy to his restaurant with a selection of bar games (magnetic dart boards, beer pong tables) and multiple plasma TVs, perfect for the avid sports fan. At the top of the bar is also one of English's signature hourglasses that hold only seven seconds worth of sand. If a patron is able to finish their pint before the time runs out, the drink is on the house. Diners are even encouraged to challenge other patrons to the drinking game. Though, only four wins per person per visit. The limitation had to be imposed after the contest's rampant success during the opening week proved to be a little financially straining.

P.U.B. has the mood of a college dive bar, without the actual divey-ness. It has all the elements of your favorite watering hole from those good ol' days at Fill-in-the-Blank University, only polished up and more sophisticated. Just because you're grown up, doesn't mean you can't get a little rowdy and have a great night out on the town! It also features outdoor seating perfect for enjoying with some friends on a summer night.

So head on down to P.U.B. for affordable, high-quality cuisine at the restaurant which might just become the shining jewel in the Todd English empire.
