Venue Description:
The Abbey is the creme de la creme of West Hollywood. Though it's ostensibly a gay bar, it transcends labels, even on the gayest of nights--for example, the annual Halloween costume contest. Urbane clientele, both gay and straight, sip decadent signature martinis out on the stone patio by the fountain or in the white-curtained cabanas by night or day. A $2 million, 4,000 sq-ft renovation and expansion secured this place's rep on the WeHo rollercoaster. Look for the latest offering from the owners of the Abbey: Bar Code, set to open in spring of 2005.
