Venue Description:
The Akbar has one of the best jukeboxes in town. The customers are mostly Eastsiders -- that's Hollywood, Echo Park, Silverlake, Korea Tow, for all you newcomers -- and proud of it. Though this place is often pigeonholed as a gay bar, customers run the gamut from straight to bi to gay to tri (try anything). In other words, anything goes. But this is a fairly chill spot, not a meat market. DJs spin a variety of music between 9pm and 1am most nights, and much to customers' glee, they just finished putting in a proper dance floor as well. Don't miss the famous drink wheel, which the bartender spin whenever they feel like giving their peeps a drink special.

Weekends at this legendary Sunset Junction bar are packed, and the rockin' jukebox is eternally cranked up to 11. Wednesday evening's "CraftNight" is most certainly not to be missed.
