joThe F2 Runway show, part of the Focus Trade Show at The California Market Centre, showed a number of unique, wearable, and contemporary collections. Standout designs for us were 'Rock Chiq' who began the show with outfits of black leather and chiffon. As the models trawled the runway with kohl ringed eyes and grunge styled hair, the only pop of color came from a chiffon, magenta maxi dress. Paired with a vibrant purple, cropped jacket, the outfit was a pretty interlude from the previous bad girl vibe.
'Front Street' showed a feminine but edgy collection of knee length skirts paired with long sleeved tops and chunky heeled booties. We particularly liked the burnt orange, cropped sleeve blouse, paired with a gold-metallic skirt. The soft silhouette of the blouse was in perfect contrast to the crisp starchiness of the skirt. Chiffon, printed plaid skirts with ruche waist details were also very wearable pieces.
Camelia Skikos showed a progressive collection of structured clothing. Body con dresses with strong lines came in bright cobalt adorned with black leather straps. Dresses without straps featured cut out details. This was a very bold collection, so not for the fashion faint of heart. But, if you want 'standout' this is it!
