Scene
The Music Box @ Fonda is a complete entertainment complex and an exciting venue for special events from large-scale concerts to small, more intimate gatherings! Seven unique areas can be easily transformed to fit any client event and any theme. This venue can even hold several events at the same time without interference with each other. The Music Box first opened its doors in 1926 as a legitimate theater hosting an impressive array of stars and celebrities--- Fanny Brice and the Ziegfield Follies, Clark Gable, Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow, James Cagney, Marlene Dietrich, and many more. Living through several reincarnations of the 40’s, the venue has always been considered a major destination on famous Hollywood Boulevard. In 2002, new owners Burt Nelson, Thaddeus Hunter Smith, and marco Roy discovered the run-down theater and decided to breathe new life back into her, thereby revitalizing this neglected area of Hollywood. Today, if you’ve watched any of the entertainment news of late you’re aware that The Music Box @ Fonda has become one of the premier entertainment complexes for Hollywood-style Premieres, Wrap Parties, Award Shows, HBO Specials, Fundraisers, and Special Events. And The Music Box hosts some of the hottest music groups and bands today.
Eats & Drinks
You will feel like a glamorous star back in the 1940’s while sipping on the various, elegant drinks served at the bar in The Music Box @ Fonda! You must try their delicious martinis that will keep your mouth watering.
Ambience
A converted movie house from the 1920's, the Henry Fonda Theater has been transformed into The Music Box, one of L.A.'s busiest venues to see bands too big to play clubs but not quite up to arena status - yet. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lily Allen and TV On The Radio have all filled the Fonda with a panoramic mix of indie kids, rock scene vets and music industry types in search of the next big thing. Holding 1200 people, the Fonda features a large, general admission main floor with a seated mezzanine for those unwilling to mix it up in the mosh pit downstairs. One of the place's main attractions is a swanky outdoor patio space on the roof, complete with cabanas, couches and enough bars that you never have to wait too long to procure the next cocktail.
Celebrities
Celebrities like Adrian Grenier and Mark Whalberg have been seen at The Music Box @ Fonda rocking out or just chilling and celebrating!

Small spot that attracts really good bands. There isn't a bad seat in the place. -Danielle Keene, Top Chef Just Desserts

Looking for a bit of fresh air? Go up to the rooftop for a drink or a cigarette during the show, you can still watch what’s happening projected onto the wall!

Its all about the roof top during the opening set

Be sure to keep your feet planted on the ground during heavy-bass shows. The sound system is one of the best I've heard.

Avoid parking in their lot. It's $20, compared to $10 right down the street!

Good Old War At The Music Box

Good Old War, the pleasent sounding indie rock band from Pennsylvania, will be performing at the The Music Box in Los Angeles on January 22nd.

The trio are quite talented music writers, who use both the acoustic melodies of their instruments and harmonzied vocals to create a very unique and soothing sound. The dynamic between the instruments and the vocals is really impressive.

Anyone who appreciates good music and lives in the Los Angeles area, should look this show up.
