"Bigger, pricier, snobbier," could be the motto at Ivar, one of the latest clubs to splash down on the corner of Cahuenga and Hollywood. Competition is thick amongst clubs, which means that Ivar might not last long as a hot spot, since all it's really got to recommend it is plushy loft-style decor and a whole lot of hype factor. There are plenty of attractive women--mostly on the young side--but the same could be said of any club in Hollywood. If you like to do things with style, reserve one of the private tables, rooms or party pods complete with raised catwalks for Ivar's go-go dancers! Even then, though, you may still face problems with the doorman. Slip him an extra $50 and you'll probably get through, but if you add up the $20 cover per person and the $500+ table fees, it adds up to a pricey night.
