Tucked away in a strip mall in Costa Mesa, Kitsch Bar is the perfect intimate getaway for the hip and unpretentious crowd. While kitsch means “something of tawdry design, appearance, or content created to appeal to popular or undiscriminating taste” the bar, contrary to its meaning, has a stylish yet modest vibe. Kitsch Bar is home nightly to many trendy 20 to 30 something year olds and artists who stop by to socialize and catch up with friends.
While there is no dance floor to get down on, there is no better place to mingle at in Orange County.
Eats & Drinks
Kitsch Bar is the perfect spot to meet with friends or coworkers and mix, mingle, and grab a drink. Kitsch bar has happy hour seven days a week! Half off beer, wine and well drinks, from 8:00 pm - 10:00pm. The good-looking and attentive staff does a great job at suggesting and making drinks. The glowing back lit bar is decorated with loads of vodka bottles and is a good spot to hang out.
Ambience
Saunter, sashay and swagger your way into Kitsch Bar’s cavernous yet seductively intimate lounge accented with warm, shimmering candlelight, red lights, mirrors, and black lounge chairs. Various sassy and bold themed art lines the walls of Kitsch Bar. Jazz bands frequently perform at this hotspot and DJs spin a mix of every type of music nightly, ranging from disco to rock. Photographs and videos from local artists and independent filmmakers are projected onto a screen in the middle of the bar. Music is kept at a reasonable volume and thus allowing for easier conversation.
