Voted “best gay bar to bring a straight friend to” by Los Angeles magazine and “best gay bar in the world” by MTV, The Abbey is a must for a fabulous night out. The Abbey’s humble yet comprehensive bar and outdoor lounge is family friendly by day, and a hot dance spot by night. Although it is known predominantly as a gay/lesbian bar, there are just as many straight people partying in The Abbey as well.
Eats & Drinks
Chef Michael Brown, formerly of Wolfgang Puck, serves up bistro-style fare to go along with the outdoor mood. Traditional comfort-food dishes, such as hamburgers and Eggs Benedict, are morphed with a sophisticated twist. The hamburgers are served as three Mini Burgers topped with various cheeses. The Eggs Benedict with salmon instead of Canadian bacon. Bottle service comes in the form of made-to-order tableside mixed drinks. The martinis are delightful and must be tried!
Ambience
The Abbey’s decor is definitely worth noting. With birdcage chandeliers, pewter sunburst mirrors and quatrefoil table designs, it’s hard to take in all the beauty at once. The atmosphere is flawless and the bar staff, at all four bars (3 indoor and 1 outdoor), have a reputation for being very attractive themselves.

Hot celebrities like Britney Spears and the Kardashians have been spotted eating and partying at The Abbey.
