On Saturday, November 5, 2011, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southern Florida and InterContinental Miami will celebrate the 17th Annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball. Deco Productions will take the Ball’s décor to a new level of extravagance with a black and white avant-garde masquerade that pays homage to Truman Capote’s famous A-list-only affair at New York’s Plaza Hotel in 1966. Masked guests can look forward to being surrounded by living chandeliers and psychedelic black and white art installations on the mezzanine.
During a lavish four-course dinner prepared by Chef Alexander Feher, celebrity auctioneer Gabrielle Anwar will start the bidding for a variety of luxury items including two tickets to The 84th Academy Awards, exotic vacations and even a walk-on roll on her hit USA Network show Burn Notice. The grand finale includes a performance by legendary rockers Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, performing a selection of their chart-topping hits. Over the past 16 years, the Ball has raised more than $9.6 million, helping grant the heartfelt wishes of 2,100 children with life-threatening medical conditions. This year’s event is expected to make headlines by reaching “the $10 million mark in funds raised in the Ball’s history.”
Starting at 10:30, the exclusive InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Nightclub will start the after party with complimentary open bar, a fashion show by Bogosse and music by DJ Joe Dert. Tickets are $100 per person and the attire is still elegant black and white evening wear with masks strongly encouraged. Tickets to the InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball are sold out but you can still purchase tickets to the After Party. Reservations for the Nightclub can be made at 305-695-4410 or RSVP@CAPPONIGROUP.COM.
