E-commerce has become the newest way for publishers to reach out to fashion savvy readers, and already, titles such as Harper’s Bazaar have successfully bridged the gap between telling you what to buy this season, and providing you with a curated quick-click shopping option . And this hot new method seems to be positively catching on as Condé Nast International and Condé Nast US have recently announced that they are joining forces to launch a new e-commerce platform in the near future. Franck Zayan, currently in charge of e-commerce for Galeries Lafayette, has been appointed president of the budding division.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City has become one of the top photo ops of the year for style bloggers, not to mention an important badge of merit and success. In the past, a ticket to a designer’s show represented acceptance and influence within the fashion industry for a blogger. Now, however, it appears that many of these personal-brand empires, big and small, are going to have to find a new way to participate in Fashion Week as IMG, the company ultimately responsible for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, has decided to discontinue inviting many of the bloggers that have become recent fixtures at Lincoln Center.
'Tis the season to be fabulous. The holidays are in full-swing and that usually means one thing -- you'll be invited to multiple social events and parties. Joonbug recently heard the buzz surrounding an incredible beauty salon Bangz Salon and Spa, very close to Manhattan and had to learn more. From cutting edge color and cut techniques, to innovative beauty treatments and a breathtaking high-vaulted ceiling location -- it was time for a fashionable adventure.
When you walk into a room at a holiday party some of the first things people will notice and judge you on are your smile and your hair. This time of year it is important to put your most fashionable foot forward and feel good about yourself. We sat down with Dominick Sansevero, co-owner of Bangz, and he gave me the rundown of what he saw for our hair. His salon partner Richard Cronk and him are celebrating 20 years. Dominick's consultation was on-point and he spoke about the need for a few highlights and low lights to punch up the color in a classy yet powerful way. We also spoke about the cut and how the shape of our hair wasn't really working for our face. He suggested strategically placed layers without cutting off too much length (hallelujah). It was such a pleasure to actually work with a hair salon expert who listened to us and wasn't so quick to start chopping away. We then met Angel, the color expert, and once again discussed color, and she agreed with Dominick on a plan.
The hair wash was relaxing, the color by Angel was amazing and the precision hair cut by Dominick was a cut above any salon that we have been to in quite sometime. You now could see our cheekbones and the color was gorgeous. We definitely will be returning to Bangz Salon -- a stylish oasis right outside of Manhattan in Montclair, NJ, yet so close to the action. Joonbug is officially haute for the holidays! We can't wait to return and renew for the New Year with some of their incredible spa services such as the Sunglow Body Treatment: keep your skin sunkissed throughout the seasons. This treatment begins with an invigorating full-body scrub. You will then experience the ultimate in relaxation as our state-of-the-art vichy shower rinses away your cares. This treatment concludes with an application of a self-tanning lotion containing botanicals and fruit extracts by a massage therapist. The perfect way to start-off the New Year.

Caroline Misan Alvo is the CEO and founder of Gambita (meaning “little shrimp” in Spanish), a startup eCommerce company whose goal is to deliver a positive online shopping experience for petite women by compiling and selling the best petite and petite-friendly clothing to petite women all over the world. She recently held a modeling competition in NYC to find “the face of Gambita.” Originally, she thought she would be able to select a model from one of the many NYC modeling agencies, but after calling numerous agencies and being told that “models under 5’4’’ do not exist,” she decided she would host her own runway show in order to find a model to represent the company. The only requirement for the competition was that every woman be 5’4” or under.
