The Revamp of Mom's Old Eyeglass Chains
HungChains: the new must-have accessory

What's the newest fashion accessory that you just can't live without? Chains for your sunglasses. Rachel Bleemer and Alexandra Goodstone, co-creators and partners of HungChains - an accessory line for glasses and sunglasses, have helped us see the light (or have kept our eyes safe from it). The family-inspired line unites function with style by revamping mom's old reading glasses into every day fashion. Taking recycled materials like vintage Pucci and Christian Dior silk scarves and chains from belts and purses from consignments stores (and Alexandra's grandmother's closet), Rachel and Alexandra have transformed the usual "I hate wearing my glasses to work" idea to "I can't wait to rock my new HungChains".

The designers are already pulling ideas for a children's line, and will continue with their theme of melding functionality with style to create other accessories, like updating old lanyards to HungChains for cameras and IDs for work. It's that much more glamorous when your camera or ID tag becomes an accessory rather than an apparatus.

HungChains can be found at Midtown Consignment and Las Tias in Miami's Design District or online.
