Drama hit Young Money artist Tyga’s ‘Careless World’ tour on Monday night in Omaha! Police confirmed with MTV News that two members of Tyga's entourage were shot and suffered minor wounds when a van that the Young Money rapper was traveling in was gunned down after his show at the Sokol Auditorium.
Tyga's artist "Honey Cocaine," a.k.a Sochitla Sal, took to Twitter early Tuesday morning and confirmed that she was one of the people shot. It read, "Got shot and I'm not dead. #LoveLifeAndGod.
"The police report confirms that Honey was struck in the arm and was transported to Creighton University Medical Center. The second victim, Derrick Lowe, was grazed in his hip.
The confrontation began while Tyga was onstage getting set to perform his hit single "Rack City.” A group of concertgoers began to throw things onstage, which enraged the rapper. Footage of the incident made its way to Youtube right after. In the clip, Tyga begins shouting, "Who threw it?" urging the perpetrator to see him outside after the show.
The police report shows a disturbance at the concert hall and states that Tyga and company were followed by a black four-door sedan as they left the scene in their van. Police observed several bullet holes in the victim's vehicle, but luckily no one was seriously injured. The police state that this is still an ongoing investigation.
Tyga called in for an interview with Power 106 to address the shooting. The Young Money rapper explained that the situation came out of local acts becoming disgruntled after he decided he didn’t want opening performers. He also confirmed Honey Cocaine is doing fine after sustaining a gunshot wound to her arm. “She with me now, we got a show tonight in Albuquerque. So we on the way there now," he says.
