What better time than Mother’s Day for Jada Pinkett-Smith to post the first episode of  her new web series; Red Table Talk project;a series of intimate online conversations she’s having with her daughter, Willow Smith, and mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, on child-rearing, family, fame and love.

In the video, Jada, Adrienne, and Willow sit down to discuss their relationship. Willow expressed how hard it is to be a famous, privileged, 11-year-old pop star and explains that she wishes she wasn’t famous because it takes her longer to do simple things. Boohoo…

But the highlight of the conversation would definitely have to be when Adrienne dropped a bombshell and revealed that she use to be a drug addict!

Adrienne tells Willow, “I had mommy when I was very young and then I got addicted to drugs after mommy was born.” She continued, “It was a very difficult time for us growing up with her and Jada did not have the kind of life that you have now… I was on drugs until your mom was like 17 or 18-years-old. That’s a long time.”

Jada reassures her mother that she holds no resentment towards her, reassuring her: “I don’t look at the experience that we had as bad. I turned all of that into power. So I used those things as motivation.”

Adrienne doesn’t say what kind of drugs she abused, but reassured her loved ones she has been clean for 22 years.
