In Los Angeles this morning, the singer/ designer gave birth to her daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson weighing 9 lbs. and 13 oz. This is the first child for the new and happy parents.
Jessica reached out to her fans on her website today saying:
"We are so grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This is been the greatest experience of our lives."
The couple was in no rush to get married after they found about little Maxwell. After six months of dating, the couple was engaged in November of 2010. A date has not been set yet for the wedding because the couple wanted to wait till after the arrival of their first child.
As some of you may remember, Jessica revealed her pregnancy last Halloween by tweeting a picture of her in a mummy costume with a caption saying:
"It's true! I'm going to be a mummy!"
In December, the excited mom-to-be opened up to Us Weekly telling them:
Eric and I love each other so much, and knowing that I love this baby inside of me is so amazing--I love it so much and I haven't even met them yet, I can't imagine how much love we'll have for it once it finally comes!"
The singer was not the least bit shy when it came to the pleasant and not so pleasant sides to her pregnancy. From odd cravings of butter and pop-tarts to telling Jay Leno of her "swamp ass," this funny future mommy loved her pregnancy experience overall.
Last December, Jessica told Us Weekly:
"I can't wait to have more kids."
"I love being pregnant. I have such an incredible connection with myself and with my body that I've never had before."
Joonbug wants to congratulate the Johnson/Simpson family on their new addition and wish them the best! Can not wait till we get to see pictures of Maxwell!
