Yesterday, 10/06/11, JustJared found Kirsten Dunst hanging out with some buds in downtown Manhattan, which just got us to thinking: we haven't heard from her in awhile! Let us do a little research & recapping, shall we?
(For more images of Kirsten's New York City stroll, just go HERE!)
We all know Kirsten got her breakthrough start in 1994 by playing baby vampire Claudia (and getting her first kiss from Brad Pitt!) in Interview with the Vampire. Since then, she has been on a nonstop roller coaster to a fabulous career. From damsel in distress Mary Jane in the Spider-Man movies to the birth of the modern "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" in Elizabethtown, the actress is known for her versatility, despite her forte of playing the quirky, bubble blonde.
As of recently, Dunst won the Cannes's Best Actress Award for her performance in the Lars von Trier apocalyptic drama Melancholia. Film critic Ebbe Iversen describes the work: "It is big, it is enigmatic, and now and then rather irritating. But it is also a visionary work, which makes a gigantic impression...From time to time the film moves on the edge of kitsch, but with Kirsten Dunst as Justine and Charlotte Gainsbourg as Claire in front, Melancholia is a bold, uneven, unruly and completely unforgettable film." Co-starring with the actress are Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland, Alexander Skarsgård, and more. Take a look at the trailer, it looks awesome!
