Amar'e Stoudemire is known for his presence and talent on the basketball court, but this past weekend, this baller showed the mother of his three children, Alexis Welch, his romantic skills. Stoudemire proposed to his lady love in the city of lights, Paris, Saturday night. Stoudemire surprised her with a 8.5-carat radiant-cut ring which is worth more than $1 million. He designed the ring with Los Angeles-based celebrity jeweler Shayan Afshar. The setting has 3.50 carats of diamonds set in 18-carat white gold.  

The couple enjoyed a romantic dinner before the proposal, overlooking the Eiffel Tower outside their penthouse Le Meurice Hotel Belle Etoile Royal Suite approximately at 11 p.m. local time. They also enjoyed a day of sightseeing, taking a private historical tour of Paris that included visits to the Louvre and other famous landmarks. 

The couple met in 2002 after Stoudemire was drafted with the Phoenix Suns. They plan to marry in 2013.
