Any chance to write a story about Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts (labelled by the British media as the strange-yet-ethereal ginger one) is a good thing in our eyes. If you have been a loyal reader of my articles, you need not a keen eye to realize my ridiculous obsession with them.
According to New York Magazine, Madonna’s single "Give Me All Your Love" was prematurely leaked on the Internet, with the completed version to feature Nicki Minaj & M.I.A. Almost immediately, the single was bashed by Nicola fans for its supposed similarities to Nicola's first solo single "Beat of My Drum".
The supposed drama came about yesterday when fellow GA bandmate Cheryl Cole tweeted “Imitation is the biggest form of flattery” to Nicola. The redhead then replies with: "Copy-catting has never flattered me.”
Nicola Roberts quickly denied the Madonna diss and even claims that she has not heard the song, making everyone's accusations invalid. She turned to Twitter:
- "Some people are so quick to jump the gun...Some people interpret things to suit them..."
- "Some people, like me, haven't even heard this leaked Madonna song."
- "Some people find it so easy to say such horrible nasty hurtful words so frivolously."
Madonna herself was not questioned about this little incident; frankly, she is more upset about her single leaking out to the public months ahead of time. Looks like this was just another war the bored media trying to create.
Anyways, as a special treat for us all to getting ready for the weekend, here's a fun little tune from the angel-voiced princess herself. As much I love "Beat of My Drum", I only got to appreciate it after incorporating the song into my workout playlist. Perhaps my initial reaction was induced by my own shock since her solo work went in a completely different direction from Girls Aloud. Regardless of that, Team Ginge forever!
