Yesterday came the announcement that everyone, except the two involved, has been predicting since the beginning – after being engaged since January, Jesse James and Kat Von D have called it quits.
Von D, 29, broke the news via her Twitter account, saying, "I am no longer w Jesse, and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I'd like to share. Thanks for respecting that."
James, 42, blamed the split on the distance, insisting that he really loved her, but telling PEOPLE, "The distance between us was just too much."
Jesse James, who started dating the LA Ink star last September, has a sordid past of infidelity that was made well known as his marriage to Sandra Bullock began to unravel this past year. The other woman, Michelle “Bombshell” McGee, who was purported to be the main cause behind James’s split from Bullock, even went so far as to warn Von D that James was untrustworthy and, “doesn’t have a faithful bone in his body.”
As of yet, the reasons for the break up have remained hush hush, but since this is Jesse James were talking about, speculations of infidelity are running rampant.
If there’s a sliver of silver lining that can come out of this break-up it’s that neither of the heavily tattooed exes got “Kat + Jesse 4 Ever” inked on their bodies, so there’s no need for the messy post-breakup tattoo removal.
