'The Hills' Meets Its Rebellious Sister in 'Chelsea Settles'
MTV set to premiere show in the fall about 'a new kind of heroine'

Meet Chelsea Settles. A  23-year-old young woman, having recently moved to Los Angeles, about to dive into the dog-eat-dog world of the fashion industry.

Wait, didn't they do this with Lauren Conrad and The Hills? What makes this  seemingly typical "girl finds self in road to discovery" docu-series so special from the rest?

For starters, Chelsea is not the "typical" girl dreaming of a career in the fashion business. At the beginning of the show's trailer, she reveals her weight to be 324 pounds, putting her in the dangerous zone of morbid obesity. Still determined to make it on her own, Settles moves away from a small town in Pennsylvania onto the glamorous world of L.A. Quickly, she faces the harsh realities of both the image-conscious industry she wants to be a part of as well as the health risks she is taking if her unhealthy lifestyle continues.

Chelsea will have "an opportunity to expand her social life by confronting the social phobias that have been holding her back," MTV tells People in a press release. "[She'll have a chance] to take control of her weight in an effort to get healthy." Despite many moments that showcase her fears and insecurities, she yells out during one point in the preview, "I'm learning to believe I'm worth everything that I want!". Is this an indication of the good things to come for Chelsea?

Take a look at the trailer for Chelsea Settles. Good call on MTV's part? Or should it go back to the shelves of reality TV history? From the looks of it, Joonbug votes A-OK! The new show will have its premiere, for a special hour-long episode, on October 11 at 11:00 pm EST.
