On Wednesday, the so-called Guido spoke to students in a Columbia University classroom, about social deviance and the dangers of bullying. The reality star was at the college on behalf of Do Something, a nonprofit anti-bullying organization and was invited by one of their interns to speak. The three big-time universities he will be appearing at Columbia, Yale, and Harvard.
Vinny taunts doubters on Twitter: "Just spoke to a class at Columbia University on behalf of@dosomething about #antibullying. Shocked?"
During the class, which is named "Mistake, Misconduct, Disaster", Vinny discusses his own personal experiences with target for bullies while growing up and how he learned to fight the wrong way by being a bully himself. “I learned that the best thing you can do is to become a bully, so that you don’t have to be a victim all the time...You really have to know how to insult people in a way that really hurts them on an emotional level.”
Dosomething.org intern Shoshana was present at the event and said that despite a student's candid question of "What gives you, as a cast member of 'Jersey Shore,' the right to interrupt this class and then lecture us on setting a good example?", Shoshana says, "Vinny explained that while he does not control how the rest of the cast behaves and what material goes on the show, he does have the power to reach a lot of people because of his career."
Impressive! Would you take a course taught by Professor G?
