Glamour Gals NYC
More than Makeup and Manicures

Rachel Mara Doyle and Jeremy Bloom
A few times during the year in Manhattan the Glamour Gals organization throws a fabulous event that aids in the benefit of our elderly. Past events have been hosted by Olympic hunk Jeremy Bloom (three-time World Champion, two-time Olympian and eleven-time World Cup gold medalist in freestyle moguls skiing). Glamour Gals is a not-for-profit who fosters self-esteem and mutual respect among two generations.

How many times have you sat down with your father, grandfather, mother or grandmother and they start telling you an intriguing story about their past. The connection that we have with those who are older than us is truly priceless. Glamour Gals helps bridge the gap between what is young, hot and hip & what will forever be timeless. They have created volunteer chapters who provide companionship and complimentary beauty makeovers to women living in senior homes. These chapters follow their "Hot Pink Leadership" curriculum. The seniors feel a renewed sense of beauty and dignity while the teens/younger ladies are able to discover their potential as leaders & compassionate community volunteers.

The creator of Glamour Gals, Rachel Mara Doyle has appeared in Glamour Magazine for her good deeds and bringing attention to the elderly that some people have a tendency to forget about. We all are so busy and wrapped up in the day to day, that we may forget to honor those who perhaps may now need a helping hand. Rachel with what she has created and her work brings smiles and empowerment to both the elderly women of Manhattan and also the younger girls of the community who take part in the makeovers -- it's a special kind of magic and experience that you can't bottle. As a passionate, motivated teen looking to honor her own grandmother, Rachel Doyle started the first GlamourGals chapter when she was only 17 years old. Over a decade later, Rachel has the same enthusiasm and drive for the GlamourGals mission. Her ability to continually streamline, evaluate, and redefine aspects of the organization has allowed the program to grow to over 1,400 volunteers in Chapters spanning the country.

Glamour Gals is having another powerful NYC soiree this season after Fashion Week. It's a really feel good charity! For further details visit the Glamour Gals website and their popular GG facebook page. This season's event will be co-hosted by Lauren Ruotolo and media personality Micah Jesse.

Perhaps, Oprah Winfrey in her quote about Glamour Gals and Rachel said it best, "Rachel Doyle has discovered there is nothing like a beauty makeover to lift the spirits of a woman, no matter what her age."
