The organization is in need of 8 ounce cans of nuts for their food drive. They have committed to collecting 2,200 cans of these nuts for this year’s Thanksgiving baskets and they need your help to reach that goal. Volunteers are also needed for the Build A Basket Day, which will be held on November 19th in the God’s Love We Deliver West Village facility. Other participants in the drive include Polo Ralph Lauren, Citi Group, American Express, Audi, and Johnson & Johnson.
The mission of God's Love We Deliver is "to improve the health and well-being of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. They prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to people who, because of their illness, are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves. They also provide illness-specific nutrition education and counseling to clients, families, care providers and other service organizations. All of their services are provided free of charge without regard to income."
“Our lifestyle programming is driven with the purpose of enriching our resident’s well-being,” suggests Michael Stern, Creative Director for Stonehenge. “We know that serving others is the key to feeling fulfilled and as the lifestyle resource for our residents, we are obliged to create opportunities for residents to gain the sense of feeling whole through the gift of volunteering.”
“God’s Love We Deliver is extremely excited to have Stonehenge Properties and their tenant community participating in our annual Thanksgiving Basket Build Event,” states Stephen Covello with God’s Love We Deliver. “Over 2,000 baskets will be packaged and delivered to New Yorkers living with life altering illnesses, providing our clients with much needed sustenance and a little holiday cheer!”
