Hats off, or should we say suits off, to Men’s Wearhouse for putting their 5th Annual National Suit Drive into action starting June 27th, going through July. As the country’s largest collection of business attire for men and women to help the unemployed, the drive will be taking place in 11 different cities nationwide in a bid to raise awareness about the sky rocketing rates of people out of jobs (12.7 million Americans are currently unemployed) and encourage others to donate their suiting to help the unemployed get some pep back in their step and suit up to look the part.

Whoever thought that the idea of having male models, walking around cities to promote a cause and catch the public eye, was certainly smart. But, whoever thought of the idea that these teams of men would only be dressed in solely boxers, dress shoes, socks, and ties, was a genius. This seems to be the perfect way to kick off the drive as these men will also be holding signs that read: “Give the Suit Off Your Back” from 6 AM-11 AM. Who wouldn’t catch notice of half-naked men walking down the busy streets during the morning rush?

More than 900 different Men’s Wearhouse locations will be taking the donations and once collected, will be distributed to approximately 200 different local nonprofits in the cities that the drive is taking place in. Men’s Wearhouse will be collecting gently worn men’s and women’s suiting, shirts, jackets, ties, belts, and shoes. Help them reach their goal this year of 110,000 professional clothing items around the nation and donate the things you aren’t wearing to work anymore! Give back and help others reach success!
