Fashion week is over and we’re left yearning for things we may never be able to afford or be able to wear without causing a scene. We just can’t afford things like
Bart Simpson haute couture by Jeremy Scott and it’s not exactly practical everyday wear. That, however, is what fashion week is all about. It’s pining for unbelievably beautiful or weird things and it’s inspiring. It’s hard not to see new fashion and be inspired to change things up. Few things from actual fashion shows can make their way into our closets, but for fans of fanciful accessories there is one.

Last year, some very fancy eye accessories made their way onto the runway, stunning audiences more than the dresses and shoes worn with them. They were gorgeously delicate paper eyelashes designed by Chunwai Liao, and they looked like they would cost about as much as anything else on the runway. These delicate curtains for the windows to our souls, however, cost about at as much as any fancy fake lash. Okay, at about 20 dollars, they’re a little expensive, but these lashes are like tiny art pieces. Deer, flowers, butterflies, and all sorts of dainty silhouettes are depicted on each lash. They blend in seamlessly with natural eyelashes and add a bit of wonder to any outfit.

Although each set looks notoriously delicate, these paper eyelashes are reusable. They are applied like any fake eyelash--with just a little eyelash glue and concentration. Sure, they're a little odd for some people. Having tiny peacocks and foliage on your eye isn't appealing to everyone, but these lashes are undeniably beautiful.
These eyelashes can be bought at Nonesuchthings and Firebox.
