Pick Him
Terry Border
We’ve all been bored at work or school. It doesn’t take much. Maybe a day that’s just too beautiful outside or a stack of work we feel like we’ve done before can set the mind to wandering. Odds are good you might even be looking at this page because you’re bored at work. Don’t worry, we won’t tell. Daydreams can sometimes be the best. Ordinary objects spring to life. A paperclip is no longer a paperclip. Maybe it’s a weapon, a rope, or something you can bend into the shape of something else while the boss isn’t looking. Terry Border has taken these tiny moments of creativity and created little sculptures we couldn’t come up with on the most creative day.

Abstract Espressionism
Terry Border
He creates entire characters and scenes by just using everyday ordinary objects. Paperclips, cups, pens, food, paper and more turn into really clever pieces of art in his capable hands. The man is fond of puns and food jokes and no wonder--he’s great at them. With a few twists and scene changes, he creates stories surrounding characters that quite literally used to be as dull as the sacks of potatoes they came from. A lot of his work can be enjoyed by people of any age, but don’t be surprised to spot one or two with a little dark humor. Terry Border’s everyday worlds come complete with conspiracies and murders and his objects do have sex lives. Border is also quite talented at doling out the bittersweet when he can.

The American Way
Terry Border
If some of Border’s work seems familiar, it’s because a lot of his pieces skyrocketed to internet fame when they were created. Perhaps the best aspect of his work is that he loves what he does and it’s wonderful to see that love translate into something completely new and great.
