Vending machines: they’re life savers to anyone that doesn’t have the time to wait in line for a meal between classes and 15 minute breaks at work. Sure, there’s not a lot inside that’s nutritionally sound unless gummy candies with vitamin C count, but help us survive a few more hours. They’re simple machines, not exactly built to churn out a nice meal. That, however, might be changing. Meet Let’s Pizza, the vending machine that makes and dispenses freshly made pizza.
If that sounds at all gross, it’s for some pretty good reasons. Instant pizza at vending machine prices makes us think of the worst kind of frozen pizza and those tiny Lunchables pizzas from our childhoods. Not great visuals. Let’s Pizza, however, apparently uses fresh ingredients and even kneads its own dough right when users order. If that seems a little lofty, it’s cooking time will blow your hat right off. Each pizza takes about three minutes for the vending machine to make, with toppings. An infra-red oven is what gives each pizza such a quick cooking time.
Whether or not the pizzas are actually good remains to be seen in the U.S. Let’s Pizza is already a big success in parts of Europe, and even Italy. It’s hinted that its big debut will probably be at a theme park in Florida, but its inventor, Claudio Torghel, and distributor, A1 Concepts, hope that it will be a success all around the U.S. They aim to place Let’s Pizza in malls, airports, colleges, hospitals and even supermarkets. Any place where someone’s starving for a quick meal and has about six dollars on hand is a prime location for a Let’s Pizza. We’ll wait for someone braver to give them a taste test, but the process looks pretty cool already. Check out a video below of the vending machine in action:
