Take a slight throwback to the 1960’s, mix it with classic culinary delights and a few tart cocktails and you'll get The Odeon. For more than two decades, The Odeon has been a haven for New Yorkers looking for deep fried frites with a side of late-night people-watching. Take a seat among the burgundy and black banquettes, and relax as ceiling fans lazily spin round above you while you sip on a minty Moroccan martini. With its dark wood accents and hints of chrome, The Odeon has the worn-in feeling of your favorite neighborhood hangout, complete with an extensive wine list and trendy drinks like The Majestic made with Junipero gin, pomegranate, orange, lime and mint.
It may have been made famous by its noteworthy appearances on “Page Six,” but it’s the food that keeps locals coming back for more at The Odeon. Start off with the baby beet, blood orange, and shaved fennel salad, which is served with aged goat cheese. The croquet monsieur with black forest ham, jambon de bayonne, gruyere cheese, mornay sauce, and mixed greens is mouthwatering. Robiola cheese ravioli with roasted chestnuts, celery, and speck ham, as well as the grilled “all natural” Berkshire pork chop with spaetzle, bacon, and baby Brussels, are also excellent choices. If late night crowds aren’t your style, visit The Odeon for brunch, which features French toast, eggs Benedict and oatmeal with brown sugar and fruit.
