What would summer be like without pie? Here is a recipe for a fresh new fruit pie. The citrus of the orange balances well with the juiciness of the nectarines. So, make your favorite pie crust (or grab one at your local grocery store) and make this delicious fruity pie.
7 nectarines, preferably yellow, sliced
1 orange, juice and zest
3 tablespoons flour
½ cup brown sugar
Piecrust recipe of your choice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Arrange piecrust in a 9-inch pie pan.
In a medium sized bowl, combine sliced nectarines, orange juice, orange zest, flour and sugar. Toss together until mixed well. Pour mixture into piecrust.
Bake pie for 40–50 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Allow pie to cool slightly before serving. Top with your choice of whipped cream or ice cream.
