Remember when you got a bit thrown off when James Bond ordered something different from a martini in ‘Casino Royale’? Well, this is what he ordered! Actually, Ivar Bryce invented this cocktail, good friend of Ian Fleming; author and creator of the ‘James Bond’ character. Cool random fact right there for you guys.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) Lillet Blanc
2 tablespoons (1 ounce) vodka
6 tablespoons (3 ounces) gin
Ice (as needed)
1 (3/4-inch-thick) strip lemon peel
Preparation:
Grab as many martini glasses you know you’ll use and put them in the freezer. Keep them cold in there until their services are needed.
Take a cocktail shaker and fill it halfway with ice, pour in the Lillet Blanc, Vodka, and Gin. Shake it energetically until the outside of the cocktail shaker gets so cold you can’t hold it any longer. This should take about 10 seconds.
Strain into one of the chilled martini glasses and squeeze the lemon peel over the glass (the oils will infuse the drink), rub the rim of the glass with the peel too and throw the peel in the drink, why the hell not, it tastes good. Take a picture of this beautiful concoction you just prepared and lets toast for a happy new year!
Salud!
