Justice Drops Second Studio Album

At the infamous 2008 VMAs, where Tommy Lee and Kid Rock fought over Pamela Anderson while Kanye West complained and moaned about not being offered the main stage, there were other good things to be noticed. That year, Justice was the featured “side-performance” artist and they did their best to impress.

Their effort wasn't in vain, as they put on excellent performances that featured other unknown and up-and-coming artists, like Daniel Merriweather and Robyn. Three years later, they are here with their second studio album, Audio, Video, Disco.

The LP is a testimony to good electronic and dance music. Daft Punk has ruled that throne with tracks like “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,” “Technologic,” and “One More Time," but Justice may be ready to snatch it from them.

“On’n’On," which is featured for preview below, is certainly worth a listen. The track is a mixture of instrumental music, minimal electronic ornamentation, and high harmonies that make you tap your feet with the most gusto you can muster. Other tracks that will most certainly pique your interest are “Civilization” and “Ohio,” two equally quirky jams that scream “I am independent interpretation and loving it!”

In general, though the album contains elements and instrumental arrangements that excite, there seems to be an underlying doomsday vibe. Everything from the album cover to the slight drone utilized in the harmonies seem to leave one with a sudden urge to self-reflect and make sure their life is in order, despite the fact that lyrics suggest nothing of the sort. Despite this, the album is phenomenal; Everything else seems unimportant when you consider that.

The album can do without tracks like “Horsepower," which sounds too David Bowie and Freddie Mercury for the record and should have been left as a bonus track.
