What are you doing July 28-29th from 1pm to 11pm that is more exciting than seeing huge acts like The Black Keys and Snoop Dogg, chowing down on culinary masterpieces and partaking in something that shoots out 30ft fire balls as DJs take over from within? Nothing.

Taking place on Randall's Island, Catalpa's full lineup is yet to be announced but is already touting acts like TV on The Radio, aforementioned Black Keys and Snoop Dogg, City and Colour, The Big Pink, AraabMuzik, Felix Da Housecat, Fort Atlantic and more. When festival goers aren't rocking out to great music, they can check out an array of attractions; and even those are unique.

Feel like marrying yourself or a group of people that day? The 60ft inflatable Church of Sham Marriages will be standing by with all your marriage needs - real and fake! The church comes equipped with everything you need to get the job done, candy wedding rings included. For those who want to recreate their subway ride to the festival, head on over to the Silent Disco Tent to throw headphones on and listen to music only you can hear. The catch? The music is being supplied by DJs in the tent. Dance, sing, do your thing - and be joined by a crowd doing the exact same thing.

All this fun is bound to make everyone hungry! Feast your appetite on something other than soggy burritos found at every other festival. Catalpa has carefully selected the best eateries in New York to bring with them on the island, from stone-fire pizzas to even a farmers market. Artists from New York, European festivals and Burning Man will be setting up art installations throughout the festival weekend for even more eye candy. 

Catalpa festival is set to be one of the most unique music and lifestyle festivals to hit this side of the country, and it's about time.
