Cosmic Opera Returns With Act II
"Imbroglio" is set to create conflict in the plot AND the dancefloor.

Cosmic Opera

It's a noble goal: combine the youthful energy of EDM with the epic storytelling of opera.  Sounds a bit farfetched at first, but based on the response from Act I, the folks over at Cosmic Opera have succeeded and then some.  Selling out in minutes, the first in a series of operas/concerts started as an experiment and ended an unbelievable success.  Justin Cohen, the founder of Cosmic Opera, summed it up nicely:

“As it would be for a true Italian opera, our first Act was an overture. It was the initial combination of opera, theater and EDM. In Act II we will continue to build the event series and go deeper to explore the possibilities of Cosmic Opera with Imbroglio.”

Cosmic Opera
Following traditional operatic motifs, Imbroglio, the title given to the second act of Cosmic Opera, is the section of the production where tensions boil over and the major conflict arises.  If Act I was the overture, Act II will serve as an evolution and transformation of the themes and ideas presented.  Mind you, this doesn’t mean just  changing the color of the lights and playing different music.  The production team at Cosmic Opera does an incredible job transforming the Ballroom, which includes a 35 foot tall, 5,000 bead chandelier right above the dance floor, serving as an incredible focal point for all of the lights, lasers and energy.  There will also be dozens of performers, acrobats, and actors in every corner of the venue, progressing the theme and interacting with the crowd.

At this point, Act II already sounds too good to miss, but we haven’t even discussed the DJs!  Headlining both days will be legendary Dutch producer Fedde Legrand, supported by Zedd, FunkAgenda, and Felix Cartal.  Whereas Act I focused entirely on House, Act II will delve into the darker side of House and explore some Electro as well.  With all of these incredible DJs at the helm, one can only imagine the crazy journey this one will be.  Oh, before I forget, the last one was six hours of non-stop dancing, so, you know, prepare yo’self.

Act II will be at Hammerstein Ballroom April 5th (Tix) and April 6th  (Tix).  See you there!
