The dubstep sub-genre, once a medium for fresh minds creating new sounds and beats, has become a place for muddled and overused womps drowning in Modern Talking Skrillex scratches. Producers have taken a backseat when it comes to originality, riding the coattails of every new sound until they become bland and boring. Thankfully, this lackadaisical epidemic hasn’t swept over the entire genre, leaving a select few originators to take the lead on worthwhile beats. Dillion Francis, the moombahton meets dubstep master, is a true innovator in the electronic realm and will be touring Florida with his masterfully-crafted sounds this summer.
The producer will make five stops (Miami, Tallahassee, Orlando, Gainesville and Pompano) in the sunshine state as part of his “Project Bass” tour, presented by nightlife/entertainment conglomerate Party Degree. Francis is the first artist to perform in Party Degree’s summer concert series which will feature the most progressive, revolutionary and forward thinking DJs in the electronic music scene.
