With Ruess (formerly of The Format) as lead vocals, Antonoff (of Steel Train) on guitars, trumpet, and Dost’s (of Anathallo) contribution of vocals, piano, drums, keyboard, guitars, and of course the flugelhorn and glockenspiel. But of course. The band formed in the winter of 2008. Their album Aim and Ignite was released in 2009 on the label Nettwerk Records and Some Nights on Fueled by Ramen will be released this February 21.
The band’s single of 2011 is “We are young,” featuring Janelle Monae and was featured on Glee’s December 6, 2011 episode of “Hold on to 16.” Check out their website at ournameisfun.com to preorder Some Nights or to watch their slow-motion music video full of chaos and debauchery; destruction, moshing, and the bursting open of stuffed animals. If that doesn’t rush you to their site, well, you can also check out the band’s tour dates there, too. Fun will be playing Philly’s Winter Jam on January 28 and they will be in New York on the 20th and 27th of April.
