Lucidity: There's a New Music Fest in Town
Lucidity Festival Picks Up Where Burning Man Left Off

There is something undeniably unique about the total loss of inhibition that is fostered by the festival experience. It is a force that brings like-minded people together and continues to captivate millions. For a weekend festival-goers separate themselves from mainstream ideals and focus on art, music and culture.

When Burning Man founder Larry Harvey limited ticket sales for the 2012 event, thousands of veteran and artist attendees were left out, and rumors swirled that Burning Man would end this year. But fear not, the transformative festival experience is far from over. Lucidity Music Festival, located in Live Oak Camp in Santa Barbara, is filling the Burning Man niche and then some.

Lucidity will be a revolutionary experience focused on pushing creative and cultural boundaries. Supported by many of the artists who once devoted their artistic abilities to Burning Man, Lucidity will host some of the most innovative art installations to date. With a promising environment that caters towards inventive minds, the festival encourages individuals to actively engage with the art. They have a DNA replica made out of bamboo, and a pretty cool looking automobile with wings. It can be assured that the permanent installations will not be the only ones. There will be art everywhere, stages, port-potties, and DJ booths. Lucidity’s art will transcend the canvass or any preconceived notion of art; here the participants are the art.

Lucidity’s campgrounds are broken into six main categories: the Renegade, the Warrior, the Mystic/Healer, the Family, the Lovers, and the Lunatic. These aren’t your average festival campgrounds; each comes equipped with its own central downtown area, with booths, vendors and workshops that fit the village’s archetype. Warriors, do not leave your Boba Fett costumes at home!  Most importantly the food vendors are going to treat their customers to an excellent local and organic menu, keeping you filled up all weekend.

Random Rab, Love+Light, Birds of Paradise, Russ Liquid and many others will grace the stage with their musical talent. The wide array of musical genres and performances guarantees good family fun for the whole gang. CelloJoe is going to be there, he beat boxes and plays the cello! How cool is that?

The best part of all?  It is extremely cheap! For only $80 you get to run amuck in this crazy paradise for three days! The festival takes place on April 13th through the 15th and you do not want to miss it. Tickets available here.
