Everyone’s favorite freaks are back for Season 4 of HBO’s Emmy-winning vampire drama series, True Blood. When you become a series fanatic for whatever show, it’s hard not to fall just as hard for the opening song. This season of True Blood will be invaded by another type of night-dwelling creature: zombies. In particular, these zombs are of the British swag variety. For the first episode, Nick Cave and Neko Case have teamed up to record a cover of “She’s Not There,” the 1965 breakout hit from the Zombies.
According to KCRW, each episode of the sultry vampire drama is named after one of the songs played within each episode. In true True Blood fashion, the cover is a seductive, chilling take on the original version. The duos opposite voices, with their growls and croons, make for a perfect sound. Cave plays with his sensual purring vocals, while Case performs a mellow flip-side, creating a seamless willowy, billowy tune.
