When it comes to electronic collaborations, Swedish House Mafia was untouchably king. The trio of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello performed their big-room progressive house tracks around the world since 2008, headlining a plethora of festivals including their own Miami massive “Masquerade Motel.” From Miami to Ibiza, the talented trio’s epic anthems can be heard cross-continentally on any given night.
Here’s the official announcement from the group’s website:
“Today we want to share with you, that the tour we are about to go on will be our last. We want to thank every single one of you that came with us on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved.”
There may be no antidote for this stomach-churning feeling, but all hope is not lost - the DJs will continue their collaboration throughout the year’s scheduled tours.
With their last Ibiza performance and legendary Milton Keynes Bowl headlining show quickly approaching, die-hard fans should start making plans to catch the three-man wonder-team in action. And by start making plans, we mean jetset to Europe tomorrow. Yesterday’s announcement of one last show in Sweden, at the Friends Arena, was followed by a record-breaking concert sellout time 42 minutes.
Who’s going to save the world tonight now that our favorite tripod is leaving the music production world behind? Only time will tell. But in the meantime, we must support our three Swedish production masters as they build their solo careers.
