An easy way to dress up any outfit is by adding a few pieces of your favorite jewelry. Add a cuff bracelet or bold earrings to your ensemble and you will immediately see more dimension in your look. Christy Turlington shows how to add pizzazz to a basic tank by layering dramatic chain necklaces. This is a great way to carry your look into the evening effortlessly. Pick two of your favorite statement pieces, and another subtler accessory, to create a sophisticated and clean look.

Tip 3: Makeup

Moving from more natural hues to a dark, smoky eye adds drama, and is actually really easy to pull off through a few simple steps:

(1) Frame your eyes with a dark liner

(2) Go two shades darker with shadow in the crease of your eye

(3) Trace under your brow with a highlighter

And viola! If you don’t like the smoky eye, then accentuate with a bold lip. Put on a bright red, or rich coral to show off a playful pout.

Tip 4: Hair

A sleek ponytail or chignon always creates a polished evening look and it’s an easy fix after a long day of windswept hair. In this photo, Kate Boswoth illustrates how to pull off the chignon.

(1) Start with a dramatic side part

(2) Pull your hair back into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck

(3) Then, grab a few bobby pins to pin it into a loose chignon

This works well for those with shorter hair too. Just use a few hidden bobby pins to secure the   loose strands, and step out with a   gorgeous do!

Tip 5: Add layers
