A Grand Purse-chase
Bags That Are Worth The Splurge And Under $1000

Buying a nice bag can be tricky. There are those purses that can cost over $3000 and will break your bank account, and then there are totes that ring in at under $100 and will, well, just break period. So what’s a good budget when buying a nice bag? Our thinking is that you want to get something nice that will last (translation: over $200), but that doesn’t make your rent check bounce (yes, that’s happened). So, we’re thinking of spending no more than a grand. Good news: we scoured our fave designers' collections and found MANY amazing bags in this price range. See our picks below!

For something more conservative, we suggest an elegant purse in beige or brown. Stuart Weitzman has a lovely flaptote ($595) that would look good with any outfit, and we love See by Chloe’s simple canvas tote ($395). Bold colors are making a splash this season, and Rebecca Minkoff’s red affair purse or Fendi’s bright yellow mini pouchette ($645) are sure to liven up any party. Animal prints are always a go-to, and Kate Spade makes a sleek leopard-print number ($275) that’s to die for. For something uber preppy, we’re loving Gucci’s leather-trimmed canvas bowling bag ($1,095 – ok we cheated by $95), and you can never go wrong with a simple black clutch from Christian Louboutin ($898).
