Our editor-in-chief adored Alexa Chung's Madewell collection. Everything was very classic Alexa, down to the last detail. Tennessee Thomas was there to DJ, spinning surf-pop classics and girl group oldies.
But we were a little more excited over the goodie bags filled with cute personal Alexa treats.
To sum it all up, the bevy consisted of cute or just cooler J. Crew style clothing (cardigans and striped shirts, of course) - with a Peter Pan collared velvet dress in tow. Models wore short shorts, cuffed skinny jeans, tea dresses, blazers, and overalls. They styling was right on trend, with demure velvet ribbons adorning their softly tousled tresses, and shoes worn with grey ribbed socks to complete the look.
And though we typically don't encourage celebrity designers to do more than what they've already attempted, we wouldn't mind seeing more of what Alexa is sketching from her closet - she was involved in the entire process - but a few designs didn't make the cut. Alexa explained:
"There was one weird leotard — a denim thing — I tried to push on Kin. I was thinking in my head that I could make a stage outfit for a lead singer but it ended up looking like a weird circus child."
And, we're thankful.
