Karl Lagerfeld is the subject of some pretty interesting rumors right now. Allegedly he’s planning on making Alice Dellal the new face of Chanel.  Is it finally time to take Chanel’s timeless glamour, class, and elegance into a more modern, edgy direction?

Although it is not open for debate, there are mixed feelings about this possible move to an edgier, bolder,  and more modernized Chanel. There is no doubt that Lagerfeld has been a bit of a renegade past. Evidence of this can be seen when he opted to cast British songstress Lily Allen and American actress Blake Lively, over the usual look that Chanel is known for. Though, it must be said, neither Lily Allen or Blake Lively is as extreme as Alice Dellal (who is known for having half of her head shaved and has a more than average amount of face piercings). Dellal’s image is opposite of our typical conception of Chanel, (Think Jackie-O) or at least what Chanel was. Although this is speculation, it seems as if Karl Lagerfeld is ready to chart new territory for this classic brand.
