Walking into the Yigal Azrouel flagship store on 14th Street in the Meatpacking District, shoppers are instantly drawn to the racks of garments attached to the wall filled with colors and patterns made of lace and silk. Instantly you come to the conclusion that Azrouel designs clothes to make women look classy, to make them stand out. The clothes, including tops, bottoms and sweaters, look unique and one of a kind, with small accents that add to the merchandise, not overwhelm them. Yigal doesn’t stick to one palette but rather explores with a variety of fabrics and patterns. The clothes stay business casual: sexy enough for the club, elegant enough for work.
The boutique not only caters to women, but has an equally impressive men’s collection as well. He currently has two stores in New York, the first in the city, and another in the Hamptons that is open seasonally. The store is dark with lighting in just the right places, and an atmosphere that is wide open and comfortable, allowing for an open view of everything. However, these designs are not for the fashionista on a budget. A wearable silhouette blouse ranges from around $250 to $300. They also carry scarves and clutches, small accessories that work well with the clothes being spotlighted.
